E. Sketch – Contro Luce
“A good snapshot stops a moment from running away.” Eudora Welty
Life is a tapestry woven with a myriad of fleeting moments, some of which eternally imprint themselves upon our existence. Such is the impact of groundbreaking inventions that shape the lives of millions. Take, for instance, the transformative moment when the camera was born, forever altering the course of human history. It was in 1827 that Nicéphore Niépce captured the world’s first photograph, marking the advent of photography—a medium that freezes life’s moments in captivating images. In this album, I have chosen to utilize the most accessible device at my disposal: my cell phone. It serves as my faithful companion, enabling me to sketch and preserve the essence of these precious moments. These photographs were not meticulously planned or orchestrated. Rather, they were taken spontaneously whenever my gaze was captivated by something extraordinary. It is not my intention to actively seek out photographic opportunities, but inevitably, I find myself inevitably drawn to immortalize these serendipitous encounters. Each snapshot contained within this collection encapsulates a fragment of life’s tapestry, a glimpse into the intricate interplay of light and shadow. Through the lens of my cell phone, I strive to capture the essence of the fleeting, to unveil the beauty that often goes unnoticed. In this dance between light and darkness, I seek to freeze those elusive moments, preserving their unique magic for eternity.
