In my Meta-Poetry Paintings series, I explore the interplay between visual art and poetry by transforming literary works into new visual narratives. Each piece begins with a poem, creating an abstract representation that embodies the essence of the original text. Central to my practice is calligraphy, which serves as a bridge between text and image. By combining Persian and Latin scripts, I emphasize transculturation, presenting poems in both their original language and translation, thereby fostering transcultural dialogue and inviting viewers to engage with diverse linguistic traditions. The fluidity of watercolor, juxtaposed with the permanence of ink, symbolizes themes of impermanence and continuity, reflecting life’s transience alongside the enduring power of art. Each stroke mirrors the ephemeral nature of language while capturing its lasting impact. As an artist-poet, I craft paintings that inhabit the space between language and image, inviting viewers to engage with words in meaningful ways. My aim is to evoke emotional responses that transcend cultural barriers, encouraging deeper connections with both the written word and visual expression.
